Burlap & Barrel Caribbean Bay Leaves

These Caribbean bay leaves are something altogether different from the familiar bay laurel. Grown and hand-picked at Belmont Estate on the island of Grenada, they’re sweet, warm, and richly aromatic, with notes that hint at clove, cinnamon, and allspice.

Use them to add depth and complexity to stews, curries, rice dishes, and braises, or try one tucked into a pot of beans or lentils. They’re also surprisingly lovely in baking—infusing custards, rice puddings, or poached fruit with gentle spice. As with any bay leaf, remove before serving.
