La Rosala Marcona Almonds Rosemary
These are our go-to fancy nuts to put out with a cheese board or as a snack with a cocktail. Marcona almonds, a Spanish variety grown along the Mediterranean coast, are a different thing entirely from the almonds you're used to: rounder, softer, and noticeably butterier, with a richness that California almonds don't have.
Finca La Rosala roasts them in extra virgin olive oil with rosemary and a touch of La Vera paprika, at their small family roastery in southern Spain. Savoury, herby, just a little smoky from the paprika. Delicious.

Almonds are often recommended as a healthy addition for a protein rich diet. The only problem is that the regular almonds are often too hard on the teeth. I tried softening them in water but it didn’t work. The Marcona almonds are altogether different. The way they are split and roasted takes the hardness away and they are a pleasure to eat. No more fear of broken teeth.
