The Best Sauces to Level Up Your Cooking with Less Effort

You know that moment when you find a shortcut that doesn’t feel like cutting corners? That’s exactly what cooking with high-quality sauces feels like—they’re perfectly balanced right out of the bottle, tasting amazing on their own. And when something is already that good, you barely have to lift a finger to create something special. Less effort, more deliciousness? Yes, please!

At Flavourfull, we only carry products we use in our own kitchens, so you can trust that what’s on our shelves is curated with care. We focus on quality, not overwhelming you with too many options—because we know that less can be more when it comes to finding the right ingredients.

Take soy sauce, for example. You probably have an everyday olive oil and a high-end one for your peak tomato salad, right? Well, the same goes for soy sauce.

For your daily cooking needs, Yamasa Soy Sauce is a game-changer. With over 350 years of history behind it, Yamasa uses traditional fermentation methods, letting soybeans naturally ferment for several months. This slow process develops that deep, rich umami flavour that chefs and home cooks love. What makes it even better is that it’s not overly salty, so it won’t overpower your dish. Instead, it adds just the right balance of salty, sweet, and savoury—whether you’re making a stir-fry, marinating meat, or even adding a splash to soups and dressings. It's versatile, affordable, and reliable, making it perfect for everyday use.

But when you’re looking to elevate a dish and showcase something truly special, that’s when you reach for Kishibori Shoyu. This premium soy sauce is brewed on a small island in Japan, using handcrafted, centuries-old techniques. It's aged in 100-year-old cedar barrels, giving it a depth of flavour that’s incredibly complex and smooth. Plus, it’s unpasteurized, which means it keeps its natural enzymes and vibrant, fresh taste. Drizzle it over fresh tofu, sushi, or even roasted veggies—anywhere you want the soy sauce to truly shine. Kishibori Shoyu is a special occasion soy sauce that turns a simple dish into something memorable.

When it comes to fish sauce, we only carry Red Boat Fish Sauce, and for good reason. Unlike most mass-produced fish sauces, Red Boat uses just two ingredients: wild-caught black anchovies and sea salt. It’s crafted using the first-press method, similar to extra virgin olive oil, resulting in a higher-quality product. With its 40°N protein level, it’s richer and more concentrated than the typical fish sauce, adding incredible depth to your cooking. Whether you're making a quick stir-fry or enhancing the flavours of a soup, Red Boat’s pure, umami-packed goodness makes everything taste better.

Flavourfull Tip: Start using these sauces and you’ll instantly level up your dishes without needing a ton of extra ingredients. And because they’re perfectly balanced, you won’t need to worry about adjusting flavours—just pour, cook, and enjoy. Case in point: our Instant Umami Marinade below, which tastes complex and delicious with just four ingredients.

We’d love to hear how you’re using these sauces in your kitchen! Share your favourite recipes or tag us on social media—we might just feature your dish in our newsletter. Happy cooking!
